Megan Candie is a communications coordinator with Leduc County, a primarily rural municipality in Alberta’s capital region. She is responsible for various aspects of government communications, including media relations, digital media (social media and website), strategic communications planning and issues management.
Megan is also the communications director and board member for Edmonton-based registered charity The Red Elephant, which seeks to empower women in low-resource settings by reducing and/or overcoming the barriers they face during and as a result of menstruation.
She is currently pursuing a public relations diploma from MacEwan University on a part-time basis and continues to maintain a 4.0 GPA. She holds a journalism diploma from the same institution and is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
Megan is an avid kayaker and paddleboarder, wine lover, amateur knitter, travel enthusiast and the proud mommy to a rescue pug and chihuahua.
