Unofficial results for Leduc County’s 2013 municipal election

Oct. 21, 2013 – Leduc County residents in all seven electoral divisions cast their ballots today for the 2013 municipal election. The total number of votes from each polling station has been reported to the returning officer to establish Leduc County’s next council.

Results from Leduc County’s 2013 municipal election will become official at noon on Oct. 25, 2013.

Leduc County’s voter turnout in the 2013 municipal election was roughly 33.7 per cent, with 3,508 of the eligible 10,410 voters turning out to the polls.

Leduc County council will be sworn in at Leduc County’s organizational meeting scheduled for Oct. 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. At this same meeting, a mayor will be appointed from amongst the newly-elected council.

Elected officials will hold office for a term of four years, as outlined in the Election Accountability Act, Section 10.1. Previously, elected officials held office for a term of three years.
