Leduc County to host annexation open houses
March 17, 2014 – Leduc County invites all regional residents, landowners and business owners to attend a series of public annexation open houses taking place next month.
“It has been more than one year since the City of Edmonton announced its intention to annex land from Leduc County,” says Leduc County Mayor John Whaley. “It is essential that we keep the public informed and obtain their feedback on the proposed annexation.”
All members of the public are invited to attend Leduc County’s annexation open houses detailed below.
- April 2 at Nisku Recreation Centre
- April 17 at Glen Park Community Hall
- April 23 at Sunnybrook Community Hall
- April 29 at Rolly View Community Hall
Open houses are scheduled to start at 6 p.m., with a presentation at 7 p.m.
The City of Edmonton announced its intention to annex roughly 38,000 acres of land from Leduc County on March 5, 2013. The proposed annexation area includes the Edmonton International Airport lands and a portion of the Nisku Industrial Business Park.
